The last few days on Instagram I’ve been seeing a few roller facial tools which look like they should be sold in Ann Summers rather than being featured in a beauty video, and it reminded me of the weird tools I use on my face…
I love browsing round the beauty aisle in Tk Maxx, don’t get me wrong, I’m not completely delusional, I know it’s often filled with open products and crap no one wants. But occasionally I’ll find an absolute gem. It’s also a great place to pick up Korean face masks at a fraction of the price, which feeds the the skincare addiction I admitted to in my last post.
There wasn’t any what I’d call gems, but I did pick up some tools which caught my eye and I thought why not. I’m not talking Bob the Builder here, I’m talking weird skincare tools.
I got another pair of Exfoliating Cleansing Pads, which are fab to have in the shower to lightly exfoliate your face without any fuss, if you’re lazy AF like me. I also got this Blackhead Remover, which looks a little scary and does inflict a bit pain to your skin, but it is really effective when it comes to removing grime and black heads.
For the best results use after a hot shower, this ensures your pores are open and easier to clean. Then use the hoop side and push down and drag. You’ll see all the gunk come out of your skin. I then cleanse and tone to close the pores back up. Personally I’ve never used the other side of this tool, cause I have no idea how I would use it. If you do, hit me up in the comments!
Another tool I’ve been experimenting with is this Rose Quartz Roller, and honestly I’m not 100% sure if it’s doing anything to my face. BUT it does feel great on the skin! I do think I’m a teensy bit less puffy in the face after I use it, so it might be helping with lymphatic draining (which it claims to do). I think it’s one of those tools which you’ll notice the difference after several months of religious use. Considering these go for around £40 online and I got mine for a 10th of the price, I definitely got a bargain!
