Hey you! Interested in getting your best skin? Keep reading…
A few years ago someone at Estée Lauder told me I should cleanse twice a day and exfoliate several times a week, I nearly had a cardiac. I couldn’t imagine spending that much time on skincare, as time has gone by I’ve invested more time (and money, don’t forget the money!) into my skin and it’s really benefited from it. I love an occasional pamper, but I’m not one for having a half hour routine every night so I’ve picked up some tricks to get amazing skin when you’re incredibly lazy like me!
Moisturising primers are your friend
If you have dry skin like me, and CBA to moisturise all the time; just add a moisturising primer to your makeup routine. It gives your skin the hydration it needs and makes your foundation go on flawlessly.
Exfoliate in the shower
Exfoliating isn’t something I think yeah I need to do that, so I keep an exfoliating cleansing pad in the shower and an exfoliating mask in the shower. When I think my skin needs a deep cleanse I give it a good scrub in the shower as I let my hair mask sink in.- Serious multi-tasking… Or next level lazy!
Have face wipes to hand
I try to cleanse with cotton wool and micellar water to remove my makeup, but sometimes I’m so tired and just want to crawl in bed. Or I’m coming in after a night out out uncoordinated… face wipes are an absolute life saver/ skin saver.
Masks before showers
I love a good mud mask, but man are they messy! Popping a face mask on fifteen minutes or so (depending on what mask you’re going for) before going in a shower makes washing it off sooooo much easier! If it’s really stubborn grab that exfoliating cleansing pad you’ve already go in there and scrub it off.
Moisturise when you need it
I’ve said it before but Kendall Jenner’s dermatologist (supposedly… according to some magazine) recommends listening to your skin and only moisturising when your skin actually needs some hydration. This means less time moisturising! (yay, less effort)
Haven’t got the time to lounge around and let face masks do their magic? Get some real beauty sleep by wearing an overnight face mask. My current favourite is Lâncome’s Hydra Zen Jelly Mask (£31).
Keep it next to the bed
If skincare doesn’t come to your mind and you keep skipping it, keep the essentials on your bedside table. I always have a pot of Sudocrem (£2.99) for unwanted spots next to my pillow.
