Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub | Hit or Miss?

“On Wednesday’s we wear pink”,  so here’s a hot pink product for you!

If you’re a beauty fanatic you’ve probably seen Jeffree Star eat a good old chunk of his Velour Lip Scrub (£12) on YouTube. I love Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub (£5.95) but it has a short use by date and I never feel like I’ve had my money’s worth, as I’ve never used more than half a pot before it’s had to go in the bin. I often feel with Lush I have to franticly use their products so they don’t go to waste, that’s even when I use them past their expiry dates!

Jeffree Starr’s Lip Scrub clearly isn’t as natural as Lush’s, as the one I got in December off of BeautyBay expires 02/2019! Personally this doesn’t bother me, it’s actually a plus for me as it means I’ll actually get through the pot which is pretty decently sized. Lip scrubs are a product I like to use here and there, but definitely not a daily product for myself.

I got the flavour Strawberry Gum and it tastes just like Haribo strawberry candies. I’ve not actually been eating it, but when you lightly buff it on the lips you can taste the sweet sugar scrub. I though the scrub itself would be bright pink, although it’s more of a dark brownish red… Just not what I was expecting considering how bright the plastic packaging of the product.

Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub | Hit or Miss?- MAHALA

By applying a tiny bit of scrub in small circular motions to the lips, dry skin gets removed leaving the lips feeling smooth and soft. If you want flawless lips for liquid lipstick or matte finishes to the lips I highly recommend exfoliating your lips before hand with a Lip Scrub.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with this product and I think the flavour Orange Soda has my name written all over it!– When I finish this one (of course)!

What’s your secret for great lips? What do you want me trying out next?- Be sure to comment to let me know! ♥︎
