My Everyday High-end Makeup

Hello again!

When it comes to makeup I have a lot of  products that considerably range in price. On Tuesday I shared my favourite budget pieces that I wear on a daily basis, today I’m flipping to the other side and going to talk about higher end pieces which I’ve been enjoying for several months. I know some of the pieces aren’t excessively high-end, but they’re pricey enough for it to make your purse considerably lighter if you’re a student like me.

The Double Wear foundation (£32.50) is an odd one for me, I originally hated it as it sat funny on my skin and separated. After having a better skincare routine, I gave this product a second chance and it’s now my favourite foundation. It dries very quickly so I apply a small amount at a time and blend well. I find this foundation looks great when my skin is moisturised and it amazingly holds up in the summer heat. It definitely gives the Instagram skin I long for. If you have dry skin, I would recommend you give this product a miss as it will cling to all your dry areas. My only problem with this product is that it doesn’t have a pump and foundation just gets everywhere, like you can see!

When it comes to contouring you’ll already know I use NYX’s Sculpt & Hightlight, for added definition I go over this with Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer (£24.50). Being a pale English girl I go lightly with this product as too much bronzer can make the complexion look muddy. I really want to try Hoola Light to see how it compares to the original.

My favourite eyebrow product of all time is Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Dipbrow (£15), it’s creamy and pigmented giving strong on trend brows. Honestly, I’ve had to practice with this product as on more than one occasion I have looked like a Disney villain, as it’s so pigmented! The trick with the Dipbrow is to pick up a little product at a time.

There’s mixed reviews when it comes to the Better Than Sex mascara (£19, full size), with many people saying it clumps and becomes thick over time. I personally haven’t experienced this but I do bin my mascara every two months due to hygiene purposes. My two months are nearly up and I haven’t had the dreaded clumping. I love the hourglass shape of the wand as it extends the lashes beautifully and gives them great volume. I’m currently using a mini version I got in the Better Together duo.

My Everyday High-end Makeup- MAHALA

During the day I tend to go for a nude lip, one my favourites is Patisserie (£16.50) from MAC. This lipstick is a creamy pink nude which has a soft shine finish. It doesn’t dry the lips and fades nicely, which is perfect for during the day when you can’t always reapply.

I will definitely buy these products again when they’re empty, I personally find they’re worth paying a bit extra for. What are your favourite high-end products? What posts do you want to see here on my blog?- Be sure to leave a comment to let me know!

  1. I love the Estée Lauder foundation, it’s my number 1! I wrote a post about it and I’ve discovered that a mac studio fix pump lid fits perfectly onto it so you’re not wasting product! Check it out for more information! I also LOVE hoola bronzer, especially to contour and I love Mac Aswell😊😊

  2. I want to try the brow pomade again- I have tried it before, but I am SO oily that it seemed to melt off my brow, even when sit with a powder. As for the mascara- LOVE IT! Have you seen “L’Oreal Lash Paradise Washable Mascara” it is suppose to be a doupe for the Better Than Sex! I need to try it out!

    1. Oh no! I had a similar experience with melting in the current heatwave and had to abandon using it when it was mega hot. Oooh I’ll have to check that L’Oreal mascara out, thanks for letting me know. ♥︎

    1. I’ve never tried the Ka-Brow but my sister loves it. The dipbrow is great, I deffo recommend if you need a new brow product. Thanks for stopping by ♥︎

  3. I really want to try the Better Than Sex mascara, it sounds so promising! Unfortunately I haven’t found a high end product I’ve fallen in love with yet 😕 I tried the benefit oxygen foundation a while back which was a big mistake, it looked awful!

    1. I’ve just been told L’Oreal Lash Paradise Washable Mascara is a good dupe for the Better Than Sex, if you need something more affordable. I will definitely do a review of it soon! Oh no! I hate it when foundations don’t work out, I’ve heard with that foundation it does oxidise and become orange. Is that what you experienced? ♥︎

      1. I’ll keep an eye out for it! Yeah it oxidised terribly on me, I turned completely orange 🙁 I suppose I’ll just have to keep looking x

    1. Ooh I need to check that out, Wet n Wild isn’t easy to find here in the UK but if it’s similar to Double Wear and cheaper I deffo need to try it. Thanks for reading 🙂
