Today I thought I’d share some of my favourite budget makeup that I wear on a daily basis. I don’t stick with one brand as I find with mosts brands, products are very hit or miss.
Let’s start with an important base product, primer! The Instant Pore Eraser (£7.99) from the Baby Skin collection from Maybelline, is one of my favourite products at the moment. It’s a lightweight silicone primer that is slightly thicker than my previous primer, Ultra Face Base Primer from Makeup Revolution. I prefer the Maybelline primer as it fills in my pores and smooths my skin better. I’m also a big fan of the nozzle as it makes application so much easier! If you like silicone primers, you’ll love this product.
With the weather heating up matte liquid lipsticks aren’t always the best lip product. However, I find with NYX’s Lingerie liquid lipstick (£7) my lips don’t become as dry and crusty, my go to shade is Push Up, a pretty pinky nude.
So many reviews have been raving about the Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19) from Collection, so I had to try it. Ever since I have, I’ve been reaching for it everyday. The doe foot applicator makes application mess free and the consistency covers redness and dark areas well. Considering how affordable this concealer is I can see why it’s so much praise.
I’ve been using NYX’s Sculpt & Highlight (£9.50) continuously for about a year and it’s still going! It seems to be bottomless… This product has definitely been worth the money. The last few months I tend to only use the contour shade (the dark shade) as I highlight with concealer. Unlike some contour products this isn’t heavy and doesn’t make the skin oily throughout the day.
Another favourite in the beauty world which I use most days is Revolution’s Vivid Baked Highlighter (£3) in the shade Peach Lights. In the light it has a vibrant pink shift. When I first used it I found the powder was a bit too compact and wasn’t being picked up by brushes, although through more use it’s become softer and easier to apply. This highlighter is so pigmented and it’s only £3!
You definitely don’t have to break the bank to play around with makeup, out of these products I would urge you try the Revolution highlighter, it’s amazingly pigmented and it’s so cheap.
