Hi everyone! I’ve been a bit absent from social media this week, life just feels a bit full on at the moment as I try to cope with impending deadlines and the small problem of writer’s block for the screenplay I’m writing for my dissertation. I know it will pass (it always does), but when there’s a deadline to contend with, it does affect my stress levels. So I’ve taken a little time out today; had a bath, watched some Netflix and written some posts for the week. So here’s a little budget product review for you…
Rimmel London’s Stay Matte (long lasting pressed powder) has been around for a while now and I had seen a resurgence of people using it over on the beauty app Veleza (follow me @MAHALA) of course I had to see if the hype was warranted. I love setting my concealer and foundation with a powder and have been using a Morphe face palette, finding that colours don’t always match my face, either making me a bit too Oompa Loompa like or ghostly. So I decided to try out this pressed translucent powder mainly because it was so affordable.
I picked up the limited Fifty Shades of Grey edition, let’s just say the packaging is nothing special considering it’s limited edition it’s just silver and even that isn’t massively wow. There were a few bits for the collection, but I wasn’t impressed with any of the products, they just seemed unoriginal. Then again I wasn’t impressed with the first film, so I don’t know what I was expecting.
I wish the compact was a bit sturdier for taking it around during the day, I won’t be risking it as I don’t want to ruin my beloved handbag! There is a very slight scent that reminds me of baby powder which isn’t unpleasant, it just smells very makeup-like.
This transparent powder is perfect for what I wanted it for. I get a bit oily on my T-zone throughout the day and this helped it stay at bay. For the price of £3.99 I am thoroughly impressed with this powder and will definitely be buying a replacement when I run out. The hype around this product is definitely warranted!
Are you a fan of this product? What do you use to set your foundation?- Let me know!
