Hello and welcome back to my blog!
I’m a fan of setting sprays as I find they merge the makeup together, making it look more flawless and less cakey. I had been lusting after Gerard Cosmetics’ Slay All Day Setting Spray (£14.50) in peach, as I LOVE peach and the bottle really attracted me to it. I know looks aren’t everything, but it’s the first thing you analyse when you’re wondering whether to buy a product or not.
When I use this, I spray my face with the product after I cleanse, then I apply my primer. I find this method really helps my skin when it’s a bit drier, making the foundation go on much smoother. I then spray it generously over my finished makeup look. The first thing I noticed is how pungent the spray smells of peach, it’s a bit overpowering and when you’re hungover it’s the last thing you want to deal with!
I get a slight tingling sensation on my skin when I first apply the spray, but I haven’t experienced any adverse effects like redness or a rash.-So I haven’t really been too worried about the tingling. I’ve read up that other people have been experiencing this sensation, referring to it as “refreshing”.
My makeup goes on better and lasts longer with this spray, compared to when I’ve baked my face or not used any setting technique. It gives a matte finish although throughout the day I did get a little dewy on my forehead.
Yay or Nay?-If you like peach scents, you’ll love this spray. I did feel like I “slayed” with it on (for most of the day). I will repurchase this setting spray but in a different fragrance to see if the tingling goes away, I like the sound of the Cucumber!
Have you tried this setting spray? What’s your favourite setting spray?- Be sure to comment to let me know!
